Hustlers beat Scouts for second straight win

The Hustlers used a total team effort in 10-3 victory over the Xenia Scouts on Thursday.

Trailing 2-0 after five innings, the Hustlers exploded for ten runs in the final three frames, led by 3-for-5 performance from Johnny Thomas. Thomas clubbed his second home run in as many days and added a double in his second straight game with four RBI. So far this week, Thomas is 5-for-9 with three runs scored, a double, two homers, and eight runs batted in.

Chase Greenwell, Sam Kidd, and Stephen Hoagland also pitched in two-hit performances of their own.

Lexington got a solid start from Jordan Cooper, who gave up just three hits and one earned run in five innings of work, striking out five. Clay Cinnamon, Trent Martin, and Clay Hall finished out the win, combining for four innings of four-hit, one-run ball. Hustlers pitchers have allowed just 12 earned runs in their last five games, good for a 2.40 ERA.

The Hustlers are off on Friday and will travel to Southern Ohio for a doubleheader with the Copperheads beginning at 5:30pm. Lexington returns home on Sunday, hosting the Stark County Terriers for a 2pm doubleheader at Henry Clay High School.
