LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Lexington Hustlers have completed signings for their 2012 preliminary roster, the team announced Saturday.
29 players from 17 different institutions represent the preliminary roster for the Hustlers. 21 are native Kentuckians, with out-of-town players hailing from Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and South Carolina. RHP Connor Asay and OF Sam Kidd are the only two returners from last year’s squad.
Asay was tied for second in appearances (11) and strikeouts (24) for the 2011 Hustlers, and owned a 3.56 ERA over his last seven games.
Kidd batted .301 in 36 games last summer, adding eight doubles and 12 stolen bases, and was named to the 2010 GLSCL All-Star team.
