Hustlers fall to Hamilton in GLSCL opener

The Lexington Hustlers fell 5-0 to the Hamilton Joes in their first GLSCL contest of 2011 on Saturday at Lexington Catholic High School.

Chuck Ghysles (1-0) stifled the Hustlers bats with a strong six-inning start, walking four but allowing just a pair of hits and no runs.

Matt Harris (Henry Clay/Eastern Kentucky) was saddled with the loss, allowing four runs in 5.2 innings. Noah Smallwood (West Jessamine/Morehead State) was solid in relief, yielding just one run in 3.1 frames of work.

Jonathan Craycraft (Henry Clay/Lipscomb) reached base in four of his five at-bats, walking twice and chipping in a pair of hits for Lexington (2-1, 0-1 GLSCL).

The Hustlers hit the road tomorrow evening for a 7:00 tilt against the Xenia Scouts.

Roster is comprised of some of the top players in college baseball; many from the central Kentucky area, and most of our staff comes from our internship program, which is largely responsible for performing organizational duties throughout the summer.
