Hustlers earn two wins to start 2011

Henzman hit the game-winning HR on Wednesday

The Lexington Hustlers kicked off their 2011 season with two victories over the Kentucky Baseball Club at Transylvania University this past week.

The Hustlers, who won 11-4 and 3-2, were led offensively by Dalton Henzman (Middle Tennessee State), Bud Morton (Morehead State), and Brandon Brian (Western Kentucky). The trio all went 4-for-8 in the two games, with Henzman collecting a triple and a dramatic game-winning home run in the ninth inning of game two.

Lexington also boasted an impressive pitching staff, with seven of 10 hurlers posting scoreless outings.

The Hustlers get their Great Lakes League season underway on Friday at Cincinnati. Matt Harris (2.68 ERA in 24 appearances at Eastern Kentucky) has been named Lexington’s Opening Day starter against the Cincinnati Steam.
