Great American Ballpark to host 2011 All-Star game

The 2011 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star Game, hosted by the Hamilton Joes, will be played at Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds.

The only other summer collegiate league that hosts its All-Star game at a Major League Park is the prestigious Cape Cod League, which plays its summer classic at Fenway Park in Boston.

The defending GLSCL champion Hamilton Joes will host the event, scheduled for Wednesday, July 13th at 6:00 PM. Tickets are currently on sale for the game, and can be purchased for $10 here.

Last year, Joe Devine, Travis Redmon, and Justin Riddell represented the Hustlers as GLSCL All-Stars.

“What an awesome experience this is for players in our league,” said Hustlers general manager Adam Revelette. “In addition to the exceptional number of professional scouts that are in attendance, the opportunity to play in a major league ballpark is something these kids will never forget. The Hustlers are proud to be a part of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, is at continues making strides to become one of the best in the country.”

Season tickets for the Hustlers, who open up play in less than one month, are now on sale. The Hustlers are also looking into acquiring additional host families for the summer.
